My pooch!

Last night we had our friends over for the third annual Dirt Bags Fantasy Football Draft. It was a success and I'm pretty pumped about my team :) At one point in the evening we're sitting around with a few friends and Steve obliviously says that "Ashley has a pooch, so that's makes it seem more real"

Luckily, Brian L stepped up and said "Um..Steve, we refer to that as 'showing'"

Thanks B-ry...my husband really knows how to make his bloated, tired, and pudgy wife feel good! ;)

DD :)

I suppose it's finally time that I step up to the plate and do some DDing. I've been toted, drug around, babied, doctored, etc. for years while I partied my butt off (literally...it's flat!) so last night I took the liberty of making a small dent in my DD debt.

Last night we celebrated Monica's bachelorette :) She and Joe are getting married Sept 12, so we needed a little girl time for drinking and dancing before she ties the knot. Brittany hooked us up with an Expedition rental and all TEN of us piled in, headed to uptown Charlotte! Thank goodness, we are all close friends :) We started off at Blackfin for dinner and then headed to Howl at the Moon, dueling piano bar, and lastly Whiskey River for dancing to all the old school goodies (i.e. salt-n-pepa, ice cube, vanilla ice, ect!)

BO must have enjoyed the festivities, because come 2 am, I was still dancing and hanging on strong! We had a wonderful time and although I was weary, it's almost as fun going out stone cold sober....well...almost. ;)

Congrats Mo!

My fav new shirt!

BO's first outfit :)

Me and the girls had bookclub tonight and when I arrived at Monica's (it was her month to host) a precious gift for BO was awaiting... (needless to say, Steve is pleased!)

Excited about the Announcement :)

Last night Steve and I had some friends over for what was labeled as his birthday cookout. I wore my "Future Bears Fan" tee with an arrow that points to my belly and Maddie wore her pink tee "Mama has a Bun in the Oven". It was evident as our friends arrived that we did indeed have alot to celebrate! They all made us feel very special and those that have been through pregnancy before offered much needed advice and words of comfort.

We had a great night and we're looking forward to sharing this adventure with our wonderful friends and family. Thanks to all!

BO's Heart is Ticking Strong!

Today's doctor visit was absolutely perfect! Steve and I met at the OB/GYN at 10:35 for a 10:45 appt. after waiting in the exam room for a while, Dr. Wilson (whom I had never met) entered the room at 11:25. He was the nicest, most comforting doc I've ever dealt with! He even apologized for making us wait (which I expected anyway!)

We talked about our medical histories and lots of chit chat and then we began the ultrasound. When 'something' appeared on the screen, Steve and I are both holding our breath, not having a clue what was on the screen and certainly not seeing anything beating or resembling a baby, and Dr. Wilson says "looks good, there's the little heart beating"...at that moment, although I couldn't imagine what he was possibly seeing on that convoluted screen, I let out a HUGE sigh of relief and said WOW! Then he actually showed us BO's head, arm buds and little racing heart (156 bpm to be exact) and let us listen to the heartbeat... it was sureal & amazing!!!! Finally, we left with grins from ear to ear, a goodie bag full of papers/magazine/vitamins and a picture of little BO :)

Dr. Wilson noted my official due date for March 21, 2010 and said those words I've been hungry to hear "Everything looks perfect!"

Ready to talk about it!!

So, my ultrasound is a week from tomorrow and I am soooo excited! This weekend Steve, Maddie and I are going to visit lots of family and we're excited to share the news of BO!! On Friday we are going to Burlington and are going to tell Steve's side of the fam and then on Sunday we go to King for a cookout with my family. I ordered Maddie a tee shirt that says "Mama has a bun in the oven!" so she's going to wear that.

Both of my older sisters, Allison (my sis) and Ilona (sis in law) both are pros at the baby making business, so I'm looking forward to asking TONS of questions and hopefully scoring some extra maternity clothes! Allison has already provided me with a small wardrobe, so with Ilona's hand me downs, I should be set :)

As exciting as this weekend is, it is still a bittersweet celebration. I don't want to count my ckix by spreading the cheer before we've verified a heartbeat, but I feel confident that BO is doing just fine! :)
